Peer-review process

The process of reviewing articles consists of the following stages:

1. Preliminary consideration. Articles submitted for publication in the scientific journal "Bukovynian Theological Journal" are sent to the responsible secretary, who reviews it for compliance of its content with the formal requirements for design (compliance with the theme of the journal, formatting of the text, content and scope of the annotation, design of the list of used sources, literacy of the language of the article, correspondence to the scientific style, etc.). In addition, the submitted materials are checked for plagiarism. In case of a favorable decision, the article is submitted for review. If there are comments at the initial control stage, the article may be rejected or sent to the author for revision. In this case, the date of receipt will be considered the date of repeated receipt of the revised article.

2. Reviewing. The article review process is confidential and anonymous (double-blind review), i.e. the conditions of receipt, content, features and review stages, reviewers' comments and the final decision regarding publication are not disclosed to anyone except the authors and reviewers. At the same time, neither the author nor the reviewer know each other. The author is informed about the results of the review and the point of view of the editorial board by e-mail.

After reviewing the materials, the reviewer can make one of the following decisions:

1) publish in the author's editorial office;

2) publish with minor changes made by the editorial board (changes are discussed with the author);

3) return the manuscript to the author (if the article needs minor revision, the author can resubmit the revised manuscript of the scientific article);

4) refuse publication (if the manuscript does not comply with the editorial policy, ethical principles of the journal, requirements for manuscripts).

In case of refusal to publish or the need to revise the manuscript, the reviewer must provide a written, reasoned explanation of the reasons for such a decision.
