ANALYSIS OF THE SERMON ON THE MOUNT AS THE “NARROW PATH” OF FOLLOWING CHRIST’S TEACHINGS

The article examines the Sermon on the Mount of Jesus Christ as a spiritual and moral program of Christian life and as a manifestation of the «narrow way» spoken of by Christ in the Gospel of Matthew. Particular attention is given to the concepts of blessedness, inner righteousness, love for one’s neighbor, forgiveness, prayer, trust in God, and human responsibility for one’s own spiritual choice. The Sermon on the Mount, presented in Matthew 5–7, appears not merely as an ethical teaching but as a holistic model of life for a disciple of Christ, involving the inner transformation of the human person and faithfulness to the will of God.
