THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL APPROACHES TO DEFINING MISSIONARY AND ITS KEY TASKS

Abstract

The article presents theoretical and methodological approaches to the definition of missionary work and its key tasks. Based on the analysis of scientific literature, the author argues that today there is an active involvement of the church in solving social problems of the country and the practical significance of such work is becoming dominant for all churches, which focuses the activities of churches not on the political but on the social aspect. In order to overcome certain destructive trends and eliminate the consequences of the policy of atheism, a large-scale missionary work was launched, embodied in evangelistic activities, which is based on the revision and rethinking (updating) of traditional approaches, a combination of new and time-tested methods. It is obvious that the missionary activity of Protestant churches in modern Ukraine demonstrates multivector and dynamic development, which is marked by such features as modernization and adaptation to modern realities, there is a tendency to take into account the ethnic and religious dominants of the country, which in turn ensures compromise, tolerance of the functioning and development of Protestantism in Ukraine.
