CONTEMPORARY CHALLENGES AND CURRENT TASKS OF UKRAINIAN HUMANITIES DURING THE RUSSIAN-UKRAINIAN WAR

Abstract

The authors, taking into account the new reality - the Russian-Ukrainian war, its historical causes and first consequences, propose to deepen and expand the classical methodological principles traditionally used by domestic humanities, in particular, Ukrainian academic religious studies. The article substantiates the need for contextualization as one of the main methodological approaches in the study of societal processes, including and religious. Not only the universality and effectiveness of some research methods in changed circumstances, but also the prioritization of some new approaches need rethinking. In the hierarchy of religious principles, the principle of contextuality is especially demanded by the real events of the war. The authors remind of those contextual dangers for the life world of Ukraine that exist both in its religious segment, highlighting external and internal factors, and in the space of religious studies, which cannot be ignored when defending Ukraine's interests in the world. Tragic changes in the context of the life of Ukrainians - linguistic, cultural, informational, religious, etc. necessarily correct expert neutrality, objectivity, non-involvement. According to the authors, the war situation liberates from impartial, out-ofcontextual analysis.
