Abstract

The article reveals the peculiarities of using historical, comparative historical analysis, historical generalization within the framework of systems and forms of human consciousness, means and methods of sociology and social psychology, socio-historical methodology, thought experiment, nomothetic methods of researching the development of the theory of eschatological doctrines. Based on the analysis of the works of famous foreign theologians, the author substantiates the peculiarities of using the methodology in modern conditions, emphasizes the importance of understanding eschatological forecasts in the context of social crises and conflicts.
